BRIGHTWELL Tennis Club’s recent annual open day and LTA Great British Tennis Weekend has been hailed another “great success” by organisers.

Non-members were welcome to turn up and play on the new courts at Riverside in Farnham for free, taking part in group lessons where coaches, assisted by Tennis Leaders, provided a free introduction to mini-tennis for children aged two to 10 years old.

Older children and adults participated in basket drills and beginners lessons and tested demo rackets.

Particularly popular was the ‘free play’ session where parents and children joined in with members for two hours of fun play. A barbecue and refreshments were provided by committee members.

LTA national club lead Simon Walker, who attended the day, said: “It was great to see such a positive atmosphere with the youngsters particularly looking so engaged and having such a great time.”
