THE relocation of Brightwell Tennis Club to Riverside in Farnham came under renewed scrutiny this week after the proposed new club site flooded for the third time in under a fortnight.

Waverley Borough Council contractors returned to the site after the Christmas break only to find the proposed site of the new clubhouse, five tennis courts and extended 'Riverside 2' car park submerged under a foot of water.

The flooding, which occurred after a prolonged period of heavy rain between Christmas Eve and the New Year caused the adjoining River Wey to burst its banks, has sparked a fresh debate over the site's suitability.
