THE loss of 26 car parking spaces at the new Petersfield Tesco supermarket has been reluctantly agreed by planners in return for a big contribution to the managemnet of the town centre.

Councillors heard that traders in Petersfield feared that the loss of spaces would result in Tesco staff parking in surrounding roads causing inconvenience to residents or at the Festival Hall.
