FERNHURST cooks Louise Buchanan and Gill Kellett, founders of the village’s Great Little Cookery School, turned the heat up for junior bakers last Wednesday.

The duo taught keen young cooks new skills at a free biscuit decorating session at the Fernhurst Centre, when they enjoyed decorating homemade ginger biscuits with multi-coloured icing and also whizzed up their own fresh fruit smoothies.

The cookery school also serves up children’s classes at the village hall, from cooking with fish and bread making, to puddings and pies.
