THIS year’s Frensham Fayre will coincide with the ‘Great Get Together’ taking place nationwide on Saturday, June 17, in memory of the late Jo Cox MP.

Ahead of the anniversary of the Labour politician’s murder on June 16, Jo’s husband Brendan Cox has called on communities and neighbours to come together to celebrate her life over the weekend of June 17 and 18.

Frensham has risen to the challenge, and is inviting everyone to join Alice in Wonderland and her Mad Hatter friends in vintage cars as they lead a parade through the village to Hollowdene Recreation Ground opening this year’s village fayre at 1pm on June 17.

Relax with them listening to the More House Band or over delicious homemade cakes at their tea party or food stalls. Help Alice find the Mad March Hare who will be hiding as part of the treasure hunt!

Enjoy the Maypole dancing and the garden party games competition before riding a pony and laughing at your friends scream on the bungee trampolines.

Treat yourself at the beauty parlour with glitter tattoos and face painting and see if Punch and Judy finally make friends.

Enjoy the wide variety of stalls offering a choice of food and drink to relax with after taking part in the more active events and do not forget to buy tickets for the grand draw. There is something for the whole family so buy, eat and win prizes but mainly have fun.

As day fades to evening the twinkling lights of Party in the Park will be switched on at 8pm. Back by overwhelming demand are Foxy Lauz and the Hounds of Sound together with mouth-watering hot food washed down with wine beers and cocktails provided by The Hollybush.

New for 2017 is the bucking bronco competition. Tickets are limited so buy early to avoid disappointment - available at Frensham Village Shop, Hollybush pub, St Mary’s School, Antony White (call 07876 523785) and Geoff King (07903 470613).
