ONE of Petersfield’s hidden gems has been polished up with some attractive new plants and shrubs from East Hampshire District Council (EHDC).

EHDC and its contractor, The Landscape Group, have dug up some of the old shrub beds in Folly Lane and replaced them with vibrant new designs.

The beds have been planted with a combination of lavender, hebes, euronymus and lilac, along with three photinia red robin ornamental trees as a focal point.

Mark Bailey, EHDC’s contracts manager, said: “We have been looking to replant the beds in Folly Lane for a while now and we wanted to create shrub beds that would enhance and compliment the surrounding area.

“Folly Lane is a lovely little hidden part of Petersfield offering access to some of the town’s favourite shops and businesses.

“We want Petersfield to look as attractive as possible and this planting work will certainly brighten up this part of the town.

“We are really pleased with the results and we hope shoppers and residents appreciate it too.”
