MORE than 30,000 flocked to Guildford’s Stoke Park on Whitsun bank holiday Monday for the Surrey County Show – the largest one-day agricultural competition in the UK.
Star of the show was Milford actress and TV star Penelope Keith, who is president of the Surrey County Agricultural Society, pictured with herd manager Terry Perkins from Englefield Home Farms, Berkshire, and ‘Englefield 1 Rachel 24’, which won first prize in the Hereford junior heifer class.
Surrey County Council chairman Peter Martin, who is the Conservative member representing Godalming South, Milford and Witley, took centre stage to present Claire Lewis, riding ‘Orlando’s Golden Girl’, with the side saddle costume concours d’elegance trophy.
