The works traverse the centuries from the Renaissance through the Romantic period to contemporary compositions. Each piece offers its own unique sound world, capturing the beauty and complexity of both the human voice and the autumn season.
Much of the programme comes from the late romantic period – a time when soundscapes were a little like Monet’s “Lily” paintings.
Gentle and evocative music will bring to mind walks through copper and russet-coloured leaves on woodland floors. Recalling the quieter dawn period, when the birdsong of spring and summer is fading into distant memory.
Tickets are £15 each and £2 for under-25s, available from Ticketsource via www.renaissancechoir.org.uk. Alternatively, purchase them from One Tree Books or on the door.
