A RECORD crowd turned out for Secretts Pumpkin Week from last Tuesday to Sunday, to enjoy a big helping of half-term fun at its Milford Pick Your Own.

Secretts ‘Spooktastic’ menu featured TJays Fun 4 All, a ride on a mini-tractor, playing on a haystack, a dress-up photo booth, themed recipes, including hot waffle sticks, and a big choice of pumpkins to take home.

Having hosted more than 6,000 visitors by Friday, this year’s event was on track to attract more than 10,000 by the end of the weekend.

Farm sales manager Nicola Secrett told The Herald: “It was our busiest Pumpkin Week yet. We are really pleased so many people came and very happy about how well it went.

“It’s been an amazing crop this year. We grew 50 per cent more and, because of the nice weather, the growing conditions were perfect.

“All the different varieties we grew have done well.

“Our largest pumpkin weighed in at 40k. We would have needed a forklift to move it.

“Pumpkin Week has also grown by 50 per cent and I’d like to thank all our staffand helpers for making this year’s event such a success. ”
