THE Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society has made a habit of scooping Farnham Carnival’s top award in recent years, and certainly didn’t disappoint with its entry in this year’s procession.
A resplendent seaside scene boasting wheelchairs transformed into sandcastles and beach huts, a young hula dancer, Baywatch-inspired lifeguard and even a Punch and Judy show wowed the judges, earning the society its second Best in Show Shield in three years in June.
The carnival committee recently paid a visit to Abbeyfield’s Hatch Mill care home to present the shield and thanked staff, volunteers and residents for contributing so vibrantly to this year’s show.
