THE streets of Farnham were a riot of colour on Saturday as children, community groups and businesses wholeheartedly embraced this year’s Farnham Carnival theme ‘a trip to the seaside’.

A procession left The Hart at 6pm and wound its way around the town, boasting three brass bands, classic cars, dancing troupes and stage performers, countless floats and inventive seaside-themed entries, and even donkeys!

Prizes were awarded accordingly - including a bronze for South Farnham Infants pictured above - and the carnival fayre drew big crowds to Gostrey Meadow from 2pm to 9pm.

A special Farnham Carnival 2017 pull-out supplement will follow in next week’s Herald.
