POLICE are hunting stolen silverware snatched from St Luke's Church in Milland, when thieves stole a safe containing silver communion vessels worth £25,000.
The safe was ripped off the wall in the vestry and prised open. It contained valuable silver vessels, including a chalice dating back to 1705 presented to the church by the Bishop of Chichester.
