THIRTEEN people were arrested at this year's Guilfest at the weekend for possession and supply of class A and C drugs over the three-day period. Drugs seized at the popular music festival ranged from substances believed to be ecstasy and cannabis to cocaine and ketamine. Of the 13 people arrested, four were charged and the rest were either released on police bail or received police cautions. Other offences at the festival included seven thefts, the arrests of a 23-year-old man from Guildford for punching a woman in the face and a 35-year-old man from Guildford for slashing someone else's tent. West Surrey superintendent Helen Collins said that police "will not tolerate" drug use and supply at Guilfest. "Considering the number of people who attended Guilfest over the three-day period, the numbers of reported crime remained low," she said. A spokesman for Guilfest said: "Guilfest works really hard with the police each year to ensure crime remains at a minimum and considering the thousands of people who attended this year's event, crime this year was low. "We're very happy with the way that the festival is run and policed and many of our visitors this year thought that this was the best festival yet."
