THIRTEEN proved a lucky number for Haslemere Beer Festival as the 13th annual event welcomed its highest attendance for seven years.

More than 40 real ales, two craft beers, 10 ciders and 20 gins on the Saturday proved very popular indeed with many selling out.

Attendees voted for their favourite ale and the winner of a very close vote was Speak Easy, driven up specially from Devon’s Powder Keg Brewery.

The festival was once again organised by Simon Labrow and Jay Seldon, with lots of help.

Support came from so many including Jules Seldon who organised the gin bar, the festival crew, Howard Bicknell and his team at the venue Haslemere Hall, Charles Beckerson and the bands he showcased, Guy Davenport and his catering team and creative consultant Catherine Williams.

They were also really fortunate to have some great sponsors including Met Therm Windows, Clarke Gammon Wellers, Architectural Services, The Gurkha Durbar and The Show Box.

Simon said: “Jay and I are so pleased how this year’s Haslemere Beer Festival went. We have achieved our objectives of bringing the people of Haslemere and beyond together for loads of fun, supporting many small breweries and businesses and supporting some great causes.

“We are already planning next year on September 11 and 12.”
