THEY came to Petersfield town centre with the promise of live bands, market stalls, classic cars, and plenty of fun.

But visitors to the Petersfield Summer Festival got even more than they bargained for – like a flyover by the Red Arrows and a celebrity encounter.

Ben Errey and Steve Jacob deserve a huge pat on the back for organising another amazing weekend of fun in The Square and the High Street.

Tens of thousands of people crammed into the town centre last weekend for their latest itinerary of sights and sounds.

Highlights included a superb array of live bands, street food and a petting zoo, climbing tower and mega slide for children.

There was also the town's inaugural Herald motor show on Sunday, with more than 50 classic cars on display in the High Street and Chapel Street.
