FARNHAM town centre looks set for 12 weeks of disruption, thanks to a project to replace high-voltage cables over a two-kilometre stretch between the junction of South Street and the Borough and the Coxbridge roundabout. Works in the Hart are also involved in the scheme announced by Southern Electric. The work, which will cost more than £350,000, is expected to start on Friday, June 12, and last for approximately 12 weeks. The company says the replacement will ensure the local community continues to be provided with a high standard of supply reliability. "All works will be carried out with agreement by the local highways authority and while Southern Electric will try to minimise any disruption, any resultant traffic information will be prominently displayed in advance. "Access for residents will be maintained at all times, with businesses open as usual. All roadworks will be subject to 125-metre restriction at any one time, controlled by two- way traffic lights." The company apologised for any disruption the essential work might cause. For further information, phone 01202 784617.
