THE Met Office has issued a ’yellow’ weather warning with thunderstorms possible in Surrey and Hampshire on Friday.
Forecasters predict high temperatures may set off some heavy showers and thunderstorms, which in some places could be slow-moving and persistent, bringing a risk of flooding and lightning strikes.
Should they develop, in the heaviest showers some places could see 30mm of rain in an hour, bringing difficult driving conditions and a chance of delays and some cancellations to train, bus and tube services, particularly during the evening rush hour.
There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
The warning is valid in Surrey and Hampshire between 2pm and 11.59pm on Friday.
