Farnham Lions’ Cider and Sausage Festival will be coming back bigger and better for a second year on Saturday, September 3 at Gostrey Meadow.

Once again, there will be a family session from midday to 4pm, followed by an evening session for adults only (18-plus) from 5pm to 9pm. The proceeds will be used to support local good causes.

This year’s festival will be part of the Farnham Food Fair. It will be bigger and better with more food stalls, more cider stalls and more entertainment.

A great choice of ciders will be available from Tutts Clump, Jars Ciders, The Touring Pourers and from a dedicated cider bar with a huge variety provided by The Star at Godalming, which has been voted CAMRA’s Best Surrey Cider Pub for eight years running.

There will also be a full bar including real ales, wines, spirits and Prosecco by Wrights Lion Brewery.

There will be various traditional and speciality British and German sausages, as well as burgers on offer prepared by Taste the Difference and Munchies.

Simon’s Pies will feature a range of speciality sausage rolls and sausages and The Vegan Street Diner will also be joining the festival this year with their American-style hot dogs and more.

There will also be a stall manned by the chefs and staff of The Wheatsheaf in West Street, Farnham, offering a great range of traditional and speciality sausages from local butchers who will be competing for your vote in the new ‘Sausage of the Festival’ competition.

Llada Thai will be there with their satay stick food and more, Sprinkle of Saffron with a range of Indian street food, Vincenzo’s ice cream and the Artisan Coffee Stall also offering vegan and gluten free options.

Appearing on stage at both sessions will be The Funky Funks who were much enjoyed last year and also Something 4 the Weekend.

During the afternoon session only, there will be face painting, a scavenger hunt, pottery painting, farm animals and access to the children’s park area.

The stalls and gazebos will be spaced around the perimeter of the meadow to allow everyone to enjoy easy access to them, while seeing and hearing the entertainment from the stage where the live bands will play throughout the event.

The Lions are happy for visitors to take a small folding chair each into the meadow, but ask people do not take any tables, or their own food or drink.

There will also be more toilets than at last year’s inaugural festival!

Lions president Ray Brown said: “We are delighted to be bringing the Cider and Sausage Festival back this year and look forward to it being a great event and to raising funds within our community.”

Tickets for both sessions are now on sale online at https://www.farnhamlions.org.uk/cider.html
