TIMBERS Day Nursery and pre-school in College Road, Haslemere, celebrated the official opening of its new adventure garden last month.

The nursery has also had an official name change and will now be known as Haslemere Pre-School and Day Nursery, still operating within the Asquith family.

More than 160 people attended the “Winter Wonderland” themed family fun day to showcase the new £40,000 adventure garden. Families enjoyed food, mulled wine, free family portraits, face painting, games and also a visit from some popular children’s characters and Santa Claus himself.

Nursery manager Faye Lovegrove said: “Our Winter Wonderland Family Fun Day was a chance for us to launch our brand new adventure garden and to announce our name change.

“The day was absolutely brilliant and I’m so pleased all the children and parents who attended had a fantastic time.

“We also welcomed Haslemere Mayor, Melanie Odell and it was an honour for us to have her officially open our garden. We had some lovely feedback on the day with one parent saying it was the best Christmas event they have attended in a long time.

“I am very proud of all the team and they all worked so hard. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful day and we look forward to a promising future.”
