TODDLERS at Haslemere’s Toad Hall Nursery were busy making magic wands last week to ensure 2017 is their best year yet.

More than 80 youngsters aged from three months to five years attend the town’s former 19th-century school in Chestnut Avenue, which was converted into a nursery 15 years ago – and benefits from two outdoor playgrounds.

“The children returned to nursery on Tuesday after the Christmas break and had a fun-packed day,” nursery manager Louise Cope said.

“We have been making 2017 wishing wands and they been using lots of different skills to make and decorate them. They had great fun talking about their wishes and what they wanted in 2017.”
