families turned out with their teddy bears for an afternoon of fun in the gardens of Haslemere Museum, at the end of last month.
More than 200 people enjoyed a traditional teddy bears’ picnic alongside a mini fete with stalls, games, face painting and a trail as well as the chance to have teddy “selfies” with museum mascot Arthur the Bear.
Many visitors had pre-ordered a picnic tea which also included an Arthur the Bear bookmark, museum balloon and novelty.
Museum education officer Kay Topping said: “The best dressed teddy competition was won by a pirate teddy.
“The judging was really difficult though and so there were four runners-up.
It was lovely to see so many people having a great time and enjoying a picnic in the garden – definitely what the garden is meant for!”
It was one of a number of events for adults and children held at the museum throughout the summer.
