HOLY Cross hospital supporter Tom Hatton is embarking on a 1,367 mile sponsored bike ride from Greenwich to Portugal this weekend, to raise money for a new facility to benefit patients at the specialist neuro-rehabilitation hospital.

The Treehouse Project was started by a group of friends and family of patients at the Shottermill hospital.

The aim is to raise £20,000 to create a wheelchair accessible path and viewing platform into the woodlands for patients.

Tom, who was due to leave on Saturday, told The Herald: “I visit a good friend at the Holy Cross on a monthly basis, and was struck that the Treehouse Project would be of great benefit to my friend and others.”
