SURREY Conservatives maintained their hold over the county council following last week's election, with all three Farnham divisions remaining blue by the end of the count.

Voters defied the naysayers' predictions by turning out in droves to vote at polling stations across the area last Thursday, helping the Tories to win a fourth consecutive victory in the county.
