LIGHTS, music, action – the countdown to Christmas in Petersfield is on.

It starts tonight (Friday) when the town sparkles into life with the switch-on of its Christmas lights and an evening of family fun, all in aid of Children in Need.

Combined with a treasure trail and the chance to win £250 to spend in participating shops in the town in time for Christmas, the evening kicks off at 6pm with a programme of fast-moving entertainment for the next two hours.

The High Street will be closed and the main focus for the night will be in The Square where there will be plenty to keep the children happy, along with sales of glow sticks and the launch of the unmissable Treasure Trail.
