WHITEHILL Town Council has pledged to investigate the plight of residents at the Redhouse and Sunshine caravan parks.
On Monday secretary of the Redhouse and Sunshine Residents' Association Rick Oatley asked how much the councillors knew about the situation of the residents.
As previously reported, more than 100 residents of the caravan parks off Hogmoor Road fear that they may lose their homes if the site is modernised.
The arrival of a new owner has sparked a series of rumours about the future of the two caravan parks and the residents who live there.
They include the prospect of transforming the site into a retirement park for the over 50s, resulting in the eviction of most of the existing residents, some of whom have lived on site for 30 years.
Mr Oatley pleaded with the town council: "I am here to ask if you are able to offer some sort of support."
Zoya Faddy said that she was familiar with the situation but said that others on the council may not be.
The council's deputy chairman, Faith Thomas, promised Mr Oatley that the town council will fully investigate the situation and see what help it can offer.
