CITIZENS’ Advice Farnham has received a grant of more than £13,000 from Farnham Town Council.

Volunteers at Farnham Citizens’ Advice welcomed the Mayor of Farnham, Mike Hodge, and other town councillors to their offices in South Street for a briefing on their work.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the mayor to hand over the community grant of £13,360 to the local advice service.

“The work that volunteers at Citizens Advice do in Farnham is as fascinating as it is important, covering an enormous range of subjects around legal and financial matters, information around benefits and much more,” said Mr Hodge.

“I’d like to thank the volunteers for their hard work and dedication.”

Mr Hodge was accompanied by a number of other councillors in a special drop-in event where volunteers explained to them how they provide information and advice to local people in need face-to-face, over the phone, online and by email.

The grant provides Farnham Town Council’s funding to the service for 2017/18.

As well as its office at Montrose House in South Street, Citizens Advice Waverley also operates an outreach service for Farnham at Sandy Hill Community Bungalow, Upper Hale Road as well as offices in Haslemere, Godalming and Cranleigh.
