PETERSFIELD shivered as the temperatures plunged well below freezing this week and the town's pond completely froze over for the first time in years.
With Tuesday and Wednesday nights the coldest of the winter so far, the Arctic conditions are expected to ease towards the end of the week, although the cold snap may last well into next week according to some forecasts.
