ENERGY Alton, which helps residents to insulate their homes and reduce fuel bills and carbon footprint, has earned the opportunity to install solar panels at Alton library.

The group has been working with Insulate Hampshire on the initiative delivered by YES projects on behalf of Hampshire County Council and 11 local authorities, among them East Hampshire District Council.

Since March last year, Energy Alton has facilitated the collection by Alton residents of thousands of rolls of DIY loft insulation free of charge to provide at least a 100mm top-up in lofts.
