HAMPSHIRE Constabulary this week confirmed plans to sell Alton police station and relocate officers and staff. A question mark has hung over the site for years, with HM Courts and Tribunals Service announcing in 2010 the closure of Alton magistrates' court, which shares a building with the police. With September 5, the official date for the relocation of court staff, on the horizon, a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said over the next couple of years the force will be looking for a new home for Alton's police officers.
