WERE you there in June 2017 for the Farnham Flash Festival? Did you catch any of the 75 performance events that took place across that single month? Had you any idea there was so much talent in Farnham?

There were shows in the streets, in churches, pubs, hotels, schools, the library, the museum, the council chamber and the Maltings. There were concerts, recitals, plays, dance shows, musicals – everything from early music to new writing.

Those who took part, those who came to watch and listen, agreed that the festival was just what Farnham needed, and it ought to happen again.

Performers Together, Community Interest Company, the group that organised the festival, are planning Farnham Flash Festival 2018. The same format will be repeated: a month-long celebration of all that Farnham has to offer in the way of performers and venues.

The Farnham Flash Festival aims to bring people together: to give performers opportunities to practice their craft, to bring new audiences to performance, to bring new impetus to the community, more colour and business to the town.

A performance can be anything from 10 minutes to a full evening, anywhere there’s room for a performer and a few people to watch or listen - from the corner of a restaurant to a shop floor.

Imagination and vision are all that are required to make a space into a venue, to bring performance into a venue, to bring audiences to performance.

After this year’s innovation, there’s widespread recognition that the Flash Festival – Farnham’s own Fringe – is good for Farnham, and worth supporting.

Performers Together want to hear from performers, of all ages and kinds, amateur and professional, who want an opportunity to be part of the festival.

They really want to hear from businesses which are interested bring performance into their premises.

They also want to hear from anyone, individuals, organisations, companies, businesses who can offer support which will help the festival happen, whether that’s time, space, services or finance.

Performers Together can be reached for this purpose by emailing admin@farn
