A TRIAL drop-in facility has been set up at the Alton Maltings Centre to try and gauge the extent of the town's homeless problem on the streets
Homelessness charity workers will determine if there is a need for a night shelter. in Alton.
An open invitation has been sent by the Harvest Church to those sleeping rough in the area to drop-in between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on a Wednesday evening for free bread and soup, a hot drink and an opportunity to chat.
Over the past few months, there has been a disturbing increase in the number of homeless people using a regular drop-in session run by the church.
