FLAGS and bunting formed the backdrop to the town's annual Remembrance Day parade on Sunday in one of the largest gatherings of people at the war memorial for many years.

On a damp and cheerless grey day, soldiers from the Royal Mechanical Engineers (REME), together with the young and old from the town organisations, joined in the parade and short service in The Square to remember the fallen of two world wars and more recent conflicts.
