OUTSTANDING areas of leadership and pupil behaviour have put a school in Petersfield near the top of the class.

An Ofsted inspection at The Petersfield School last month graded it as "outstanding" for behaviour and safety and leadership and management and "good" for achievement and quality of teaching, earning it a rating of "good" in overall effectiveness.

Recognising the significant improvements made since its previous outstanding inspection in 2010, before the school became an academy, Ofsted inspectors were, however, unable to award TPS an overall grade one rating because of a change in the rules.
