A MASTERPLAN to put Haslemere "back on the map" is under way by retailers.
Concerned by a "lack of footfall and business", traders have taken it into their own hands to explore a number of projects which they hope will not only increase trade but also encourage more new businesses into Haslemere to fill its empty shops.
A parking refund scheme to encourage shoppers to stay for more than an hour, a new strategy to market Haslemere, revitalising and promoting the Haslemere Loyalty Card rewards scheme and building on the existing strengths of the town are all on the agenda for a meeting of traders in the town next week.
