COMPLAINTS that 30 mph speed signs in Chiddingfold as part of a £50,000 traffic calming scheme are "not in the right place, incorrect and hidden from view" have been voiced this week by parish councillor Fred Martin.
Mr Martin claimed that although the signs marked the 30 mph speed limit zone at either end of Pockford Road, there was "nothing on the other side" to tell motorists they were able to drive at 60 mph. He also claimed they had been installed 200m further south than the original signs, and that one was hidden from view by bushes.
Surrey County Council's Waverley area engineer Graham Hodgson said further checks would be carried out.
