SOUTH West Trains have pledged improved security on late-night train services after passengers admitted to feeling "intimidated and frightened" while travelling on the last train between Haslemere and Guildford.

The British Transport Police have also claimed that problems with drunken teenagers travelling home from Guildford on late night trains were "getting worse".

SWT said security guards would be paying "particular attention" to the 2329 train and would be boarding the train at Waterloo to ensure "more of a uniformed visible presence" throughout its journey.
