GREAT Britain’s No. 1 trampolinist double Olympian Kat Driscoll was guest of honour at Swallows Trampoline Club’s 2017 sports awards, at Haslemere Museum, last Saturday.

Club members, who come from Haslemere, Liphook and Bordon, enjoyed her inspirational talk about her journey to the dizzy heights.

Local businesses including, Barons BMW, Blue Hairdressing, Places for People and The Grove Resource Centre, sponsored the event and representatives presented club members with medals and trophies for their achievements.

Major accolades went to 15-year-old Cerys McIntosh from Grayswood for both elite outstanding performance and highest form score. Seven-year-old Joseph Hutchinson won junior disability member of the year award and 12-year-old Amy Tantum was runner up.

Both girl are pupils at Hollywater School, in Bordon. Amy Orange, aged seven, was runner-up in the best newcomer award.

Club coach Lynn Joyce said. “The attractive venue and good weather provided an opportunity for parents, coaches and club members to socialise in the gardens after the formalities were concluded.

“Many took the opportunity to have photographs taken with Kat, getting signed autographs and also the occasional piece of impromptu coaching.”
