TRAVELLERS who arrived on the industrial site in Kings Road almost a month ago were still in residence on Wednesday of this week.
After moving on to a grassed area owned owned by Robertet, last week, several more travellers' caravans and vehicles have now spilled on to its car park.
With a number of caravans no longer on the Waverley Borough Council-owned land next to the Royal Mail sorting office, workers moved in to make the litter strewn site inaccessible to more travellers.
Despite comments that the area was fast becoming an health hazard, a spokesman for Waverley said that there was "very little it could do."
"We are monitoring the situation very closely and making sure that it is not posing a real health and safety risk," said the spokesman.
"Once the travellers have moved off we will ensure that the site is cleaned up," said the spokesman.
A spokesman for Robertet, which makes industrial perfumes, told the Herald on Wednesday that a court order to remove the travellers had been applied for and a hearing would take place on Monday October 14.
"We have served notices on the travellers advising them of the situation and hope that the situation can be resolved as quickly as possible."
