LAST week it was time to put up the Christmas tree in Haslemere Town Centre, courtesy of the National Trust's Blackdown rangers team.

The tree is now lit and will be the focus of the annual town carol concert in the High Street under the tree at 7pm, on Wednesday, December 18.

Free mince pies and mulled wine will be provided by Haslemere Chamber of Trade.

Head ranger Dave Elliott, based at Swan Barn, said: "We have been harvesting the tree for years, and it is definitely one of my favourite jobs of the year."
