LOCAL campaigners have vowed to 'fight on' following news that the Secretary of State for Health has been awarded outline planning permission to demolish historic buildings and erect 145 dwellings at Alton's Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital site.

While the appeal decision means things will be harder, with the Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital Company faced with having to purchase the site at "an artificially inflated value", the community backed charity insists: "It will not be impossible."
