THREE members of Tri-High Multisports Club, for children and adults from the Liphook area, took on the UK Ironman 2016 – regarded as the toughest single day multi-sports event.
The race started with a 2.4-mile lake swim, followed by 112 miles on a bike, finishing with a full marathon.
More than 2,500 competitors took on this year’s challenge, including three members of the Tri-High adults (Buddies) section.
Barnaby Gray, the founder of Tri-High, represents Great Britain, has numerous World and European Championships under his belt and enjoys competing in all distances.

The former teacher will be heading to Austria in September for the European Middle Distance Triathlon Championships for Great Britain having competed in the Ironman and coaching others to achieve their dream.
Barnaby is also a British triathlon coach, works for Triathlon England and supports individuals looking to take on such challenges from start to finish which included the two other Tri-High athletes who took on the challenge for the first time.
Aubrey Malcolm-Green was coached by Barnaby since he took up the sport in February this year.
He aimed to complete an Ironman within five months of buying a bike, wetsuit and running shoes.
Aubrey started with an Olympic distance triathlon, followed by a half-Ironman distance race and then the full challenge, highlighting that anything is possible, finishing in 13 hours 21 minutes.
James Woodhouse was also taking on his first full Ironman having competed in a couple of half-distance events over the last couple of years.
James is head coach of the kids’ section of Tri-High as a British Triathlon coach but managed to find the time to train for this challenge and complete in 14 hours 32 minutes.
