TWO long-serving former councillors at both district and parish/town level in the Alton area died shortly before the Christmas holiday.
Former Alton mayor Geordie Slone died on December 21. His funeral was held on December 30. Bill Hardy, who was chairman of East Hampshire District Council from 1977-79, died at his Four Marks home one day later.
