THERE?will be tricks and treats aplenty in the Assembly Rooms on the run up to Hallowe’en.

Making witches and wizards’ hats and spooky masks will be the order of the day next Wednesday, October 28, from 1pm-3pm. The session costs £2.

Also on Wednesday, again from 1pm-3pm, there will be a weigh-in for the biggest home-grown pumpkin competition.

The free competition is open to both adults and children, with prizes for the heaviest pumpkin in both age ranges, and applies to homegrown pumpkins rather than any bought from a farm or shop.

It has been organised jointly by the Alton Horticultural Society and Alton In Bloom.

And on Friday, October 30, the Assembly Rooms will host a Hallowe’en disco. Tickets, priced £4 for children and £2 for adults, are available from the Assembly Rooms.
