THE National Trust has unveiled some of its future plans for the Devil's Punch Bowl, after work began to restore the internationally-prized countryside around Hindhead and create the largest area of lowland heath in southern Britain.
Workmen started to dig up and bury the old A3 trunk road last week, transforming the famous bottleneck back to its previous natural state, just one month after the official opening of the £370m A3 tunnel.
