TIME will roll back 500 years to the era of Henry VIII at Farnham library’s wood-panelled Culver Room on Thursday, March 31, when the Friends of the Library present Tudor Times, a children’s historical workshop.
The room will be dressed as a Tudor parlour, with period furniture and a table laid with pewter plates and tankards. A Tudor cook will describe what people ate and drank in those days and the children will help her prepare some herbal remedies.
After a short film show on how people lived, the children will decorate a Tudor Rose shield and a jewelled crown. They can also learn a stately dance and by the end of the session, the children will have gained a good insight into Tudor life.
A limited number of tickets at £5 each for the 10.30am and 2pm sessions are on sale at the reception desk at Farnham library.
