THE HIGHWAYS Agency has hit back at claims that the A3 Improvement Scheme is running £274m over budget.

The ongoing project to build a four-mile road, including the twin-bore Hindhead tunnel, will reduce congestion through Hindhead and past the Devil's Punch Bowl.
