SUPERVET Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is lending more star support to Haslemere Hounds arts project for good causes.
The leading veterinary surgeon based at Fitzpatrick Referrals in Godalming has signed local artist Wendy Richards’ hound, named ‘Every Dog Has Its Day’.
It features portraits of famous dogs, from Greyfriars Bobby to Lassie, and also includes ProfesNoel Fitzpatrick’s beloved Border Terrier Keira.
The hound will be auctioned off with others in September and it comes complete with a copy of Professor Fitzpatrick’s book, Listening to the Animals with funds raised going towards supporting the work of Godalming-based Humanimal Trust, the charity he founded in 2014.
More than 100 decorated fibreglass Haslemere Hounds are being displayed throughout the area from May until September.
Wendy said: “Having read Noel’s story I was so inspired by the need he identifies for human and animal medicine to collaborate and share knowledge where there are similarities between species.
“I wanted to contribute to Humanimal Trust in working to bring this about and this seemed a fantastic opportunity to do just that.”
Jo Blake, Humanimal Trust spokesperson added: “We are extremely grateful to Wendy for her kind support and quite simply bowled over by her talent.
“We hope everyone will share our admiration for all of the hounds and are very excited to be involved in the project.”
