TWO men were killed when their blue Ford Fiesta collided with a white Fiat Scudo van on Lindford Bridge last Friday night.

Kevin Etherington (20), of Chase Road, was driving along the B3002, Lindford Road, towards Bordon at around 11-30 pm when his car collided with a van, driven by a 26-year-old man from Farnham.

Firefighters from Alton, Bordon and Liphook spent around one-and-a-half hours releasing four people from the Fiesta.

Mr Etherington and his front seat passenger, Alastair Beveridge (25), of Horndean, were killed at the scene and the three rear seat passengers, two men and one woman thought to be in their late teens or early 20s, were taken to the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford.

The woman and one of the men suffered extensive injuries and are both still in serious, but stable, conditions in hospital, according to police.

The other man, who suffered minor injuries, was kept in overnight but released the next day

A funeral service for Mr Beveridge is to be held at Portchester Crematorium on Wednesday at 11-30 am.

The family has requested family flowers only at the service, but donations may be sent for the Rowans Hospice c/o Barrells Funeral Directors, 380 London Road, Waterlooville, PO7 7TA.

Mr Etherington affectionately known as ÒKev the RevÓ was a much-loved son of Derek and Chantelle, stepson of George of Broxhead, brother of Sarah, Simon and Gary and uncle of Shane and Tyler.

A funeral service is to be held at Guildford Crematorium next Friday at 11 am.

The driver of the van was arrested at the scene after a positive breath test, but was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened around 60 metres from the junction of Broxhead Road.
