FARNHAM is mourning the passing of two outstanding servants of the community this week; Badshot Lea stalwart Mike Probert and former Herald chief reporter Monica Jones.

Mike, 84, a councillor, school governor and founder of The Kilns community centre, and Monica, 90, who joined The Herald in 1950 and was a firm fixture in the paper’s newsroom for some 40 years, were good friends having worked in close collaboration for many decades and died within four days of each other, on January 21 and 25 respectively.
