LAST week's Hamp-shire County Council elections saw UKIP secure a significant portion of the votes, winning 10 seats in the county and securing 30 per cent of the total votes cast for the four candidates in Bordon, Whitehill and Lindford.

Adam Carew, standing for the Liberal Demo-crats, was re-elected to represent the Bordon, Whitehill and Lindford division on the council, winning with 1,147 votes (43 per cent of total votes for the four candidates) - just 345 votes more than UKIP's Don Jerrard (802 votes).

Third in the ward came Ken Carter (Conservative) with 501 votes, followed by Labour's Keith Budden with 197 votes.
